Hi! I'm Melissa Ulven.

I'm an adoptee, a project manager, and a writer. I believe that everyone has the ability to complete the projects that matter most to them, given the right tools and support. It is my goal to offer relaxed, inclusive, and fun education and resources to help you achieve your goals.

This free training will introduce you to writing fiction as a way to tell your adoptee story.

Novel Writing for Adoptees is a 12-week class where we will:

  • Learn how fiction can make adoptee stories more accessible to you and your audience.
  • Discover the importance of community support while crafting a novel.
  • Identify the tried and true structure that makes a compelling novel.
  • Practice the craft of writing through writing prompts and structured writing time.
  • Build a deeper understanding of your work and others through optional guided critique.
